The St. Francis Xavier Catholic School Council is an advisory body to the Principal. The membership changes from year to year. Each year, potential new council members will be recruited for election. The St.F.X. membership as per our CSC constitution has 12 parent representatives (must be the majority of the members on the council), Principal or Vice-Principal, 1 teacher employed in the school, 1 non-teaching employee of the school, 1 student, 1 community representative appointed by the CSC, 1 parish representative appointed by the parish priest, and 1 member to represent the Ontario Association of Parents in Catholic Education. Our board has also requested a parent sit as a SEAC rep on council. Regulation 612/00 clearly directs the CSC to consult with parents of students enrolled in the school about matters under consideration by the council. It is therefore expected that any advice provided to the school principal or school board will be based on the general views of the school community and the best interests of all the students in the school. The St. Francis Xavier Catholic School Council is accountable to the school community it represents. At the end of its term, our CSC must prepare and submit a written report to the school, school board and Ministry of Education, outlining the council's goals, activities, and achievements, including any fund-raising activities. The Principal, on behalf of the CSC, must ensure that a copy of this annual report is provided to every parent who has a child enrolled in the school. The CSC meets the third Wednesday of each month in the library. All parents are invited to come join in our discussions as we value your participation. You do not need to be a member to attend and all are welcome. Please join us. Minutes from the meetings:
