St. F. X. Music and Art students are about to begin their biggest fundraiser of the year -- the SPOOOOOKY House!! Students from St.F.X transform into ghoulish freaks and nasties every weekend in October at Cannamore Orchard where you can also visit the Spooky Wagon Ride and various other great attractions. Set aside 2-3 hours for full enjoyment of the orchard. Visit http://www.spookywagonride.com/ for more information.
Support St. F. X Student Athletes!! Student athletes are in the middle of their yearly fundraiser of selling chocolate bars. Each student needs to sell a box of 30 chocolate bars so if you love chocolate, contact Ms. Coch for more information!
Starting on Oct. 5th, the in-school McCarthy's Uniform Store will be open on Thursdays, from 2-6pm.
Welcome back to another exciting year at St.F.X!! We would like to take an opportunity to welcome several new faces to our staff. (September 2006)
We would also like to extend our gratitude and good wishes to all of those staff members who have moved on. Eva McHenry
We would like to announce that Mrs. McHenry has been assigned to a new administrative position, Vice-Principal of Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School in Russell, effective September 2006. We would like to wish her every success in her new position and thank her for all she has contributed to St. Francis and the community. She has been with us since 1995 and will be greatly missed. Congratulations to Mr. David Kennedy, he will be the new Vice-Principal of St. Francis Xavier. He is currently a high school teacher at St. Francis and has also been with us since 1995.
The SHOUT team will be having a donation box available to help the victims of the earthquake in Indonesia. All proceeds collected will be forwarded to the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace. They will also be selling art pieces that were hand made from our students. Please support this generous cause as we continue to help our global brothers and sisters in need.
PLEASE NOTE - As of September 2006, students will no longer be required to provide their own locks for lockers. For $5 all students will be given a locker, complete with an administration mandated lock. Locks will remain property of the school however when locks are returned, students will be refunded $2.
The 2006 Annual Moga day at St.F.X was a huge success as usual. With all the hard work put in by the student council, its no wonder that everyone had such a great time. Click here to see the pics!
It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Mr. Ray Monette who has been a custodian at St. F. X for many years. He has moved on to a new position at Mother Teresa Catholic School in Russell. Thank you for all your hard work over the years, Ray.
The play "The Funny Thing About High School" was incredibly well done and was enjoyed by everyone who saw it. Some grade 10 English students had this to say:
The Arts appreciation trip to Washington D.C. was an amazing experience for all those who participated. Students had the opportunity to see many of the most famous landmarks of Washington including the Washington Monument, The White House and The Lincoln Memorial. Students also experienced several great shows, a haunted tour of Gettysburg and a whole day at the Smithsonian. Click here to see some pictures of the trip.
