All students attending St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School must be in full uniform while on school property and while representing St. Francis in the community at large. We expect our school uniform to be worn proudly and neatly. As well, we ask parents/guardians to assist and support our school in upholding this standard. A student will not be admitted to class if they are not in proper uniform. If a student is not admitted to class he/she will be responsible for all work missed. 1. Non-uniform sweaters are not allowed. 2. Only navy blue, white or grey solid coloured t-shirts are allowed. Graphics, pictures and writing on t-shirts are not allowed. 3. Hooded t-shirts are not allowed. 4. Pants must be worn appropriately; no sagging or over-sizing is allowed. Pant bottoms may not be split or widened. Shorts and skirts may not be shortened. 5. All shirts must be tucked in, with the exception of the French cut blouse. 6. Shirts must be buttoned. 7. Undergarments should not be exposed and pant length should not be dragging. 8. Clothing that is torn or ripped is not allowed. 9. When socks are visible, they must be the school uniform colours; solid navy blue, white or grey. 10. High boots are not permitted. Winter boots are not to be worn to classes at any time. 11. Shirts and pants must not be rolled up. 12. Accessories, such as jewellery, backpacks and make up must not display vulgar, violent or sexually suggestive language or images. Coloured, rubber bracelets and spiked or studded bracelets are not allowed. For safety concerns, no chains may be attached to the uniform pants. Safety pins are not permitted. Any unauthorized alteration of the school uniform is unacceptable. 13. Students taking physical education classes must wear the school gym uniform, which includes a t-shirt and shorts. 14. Coats are to be worn outside only. All coats must be left in lockers. 15. Students are expected to arrive at school and depart from school in the school uniform. 16. Students will wear the school uniform on excursions. Exceptions may be made depending on the nature of the excursions.
